Wildernesse House

A call from a project manager-friend was the pre-requisite to one of the most design-led projects we have ever undertaken.

The builder was struggling to find a contractor willing to undertake double vaulted timber ceiling and, apparently, we were at the top of the list due to our can-do attitude.
A lengthy design lead-in took place, where we worked very closely with the builder and the architect.

We held presentations and sample sessions at the workshop.
There were challenges – particularly in making the concept “buildable”. The direction of grain (and how it reacts when bringing it down to a sharp point) was a particular item to note.
Once our capabilities had been established, we were trusted to manufacture the oak panelling, windows and the curved timbers elements externally constructed from Thermo wood.
